Let us not forget that virtues, which are not well-acquired, become evil

Let us not forget that virtues, which are not well-acquired, become evil

"The farmer tills the soil, weeds, sows, and waits for God's mercy. If God does not send rain and favorable winds at the right time, then the farmer loses the reward for his labor. The same happens with us. If the Lord does not send the living waters of His grace to cleanse us, we remain barren, without fruit, and our deeds become food for demons, for they will be choked by our passions, and we will reap nothing. Let us not forget that virtues, which are not well-acquired, become evil."
